Cow Horn: A New Chinese Style Design

The inspiration for the Cow Horn design comes from the intricate details and structural elements found in ancient Chinese architecture. The shape of the chair back, reminiscent of the eaves of Hui style architecture, features a slight elastic arc on both sides. The table, on the other hand, draws inspiration from the tenon and mortise structure of ancient attics, with a staggered and orderly arrangement.

What sets the Cow Horn design apart is its attention to detail and the use of high-quality materials. The chair's back is separated from the armrest, creating dense and orderly lines. The curvature of the cushion and the intricate details of the armrests not only provide comfort but also enhance the overall quality and delicacy of the chair. The table, crafted from black walnut, showcases the natural color and touch of wood, thanks to the application of wood wax oil on its surface.

The Cow Horn design is not only visually appealing but also functional. The seat back is designed to fit the shape of a person's back, promoting correct sitting posture and making it suitable for various activities such as entertainment and reading.

The production of the Cow Horn design involves a combination of CNC machining technology for shaping the wood parts and hand-molding for the metal parts. The two parts can be quickly disassembled, allowing for easy production and transportation.

Measuring 700mmx700mmx850mm for the chair and 1650mmx850mmx750mm for the table, the Cow Horn design is a perfect addition to any living space. Its unique blend of traditional Chinese elements with modern design principles makes it a standout piece that transcends cultural boundaries.

The Cow Horn design project began in January 2019 in Shenyang and was completed in June 2019. It was exhibited at the art museum of Shenyang Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, showcasing its beauty and craftsmanship to the public.

This exceptional design has been recognized for its excellence and innovation. The Cow Horn design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2020. This prestigious award is given to designs that meet professional and industrial requirements, integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics.
